If I recall, Mythbusters got their duct-tape sailboat going in the same show where they explored the use of duct tape to plug holes in boats -- works better if initially the surface is dry, but still does some good even on a wet boat, and explored the use of ropes made from bedsheets, hair, and toilet paper to break out of prison. The show was one of my son's favorites before he went off to school.
