Over the last 12 years, I have sailed our 30' Newport over 200 times as a single hander. At first the task was daunting. Trim, navigate, tack, raise the sails as the boat self steers and hopefully stays into the wind (but not always). But after learning the ropes (pun intended), I am a very confident single hander. There is nothing like a sail on the bay with just Kona (dog) and me riding the wind and hanging on the the "Addiction" for an afternoon sail on the windy SF bay.
